Brandi
began coaching for NWAA with a satellite team in Siloam
Springs in January 2004, in hopes of building a year-round
program for local swimmers. She was then head coach for the
swimming and diving program at John Brown University, where
she saw both their men’s and women’s team set many school
records, including an NAIA All-American 200 Medley relay.
Since joining NWAA, Brandi has coached several swimmers from
beginner level to AAA times, including a couple of Arkansas
Age-Group State champions.
Her prior
swimming experience includes seven years as a senior level
swimmer for Swim Tulsa, with whom she eventually began her
coaching career while in college. Brandi graduated from the
University of Tulsa as a Presidential Scholar with a
Bachelor’s degree in Philosophy. Since TU did not offer
swimming, she rowed on their NCAA Division 1 varsity crew
for the 4 years she attended there, winning regattas such as
the San Diego Crew Classic Eight, and the Southern
Intercollegiate Rowing Association Four.
Brandi
lives with her husband Cass and their one-year-old daughter,
India, at New Life Ranch in Colcord, OK. Brandi plugs in at
New Life as often as she can, helping out with their
leadership development, challenge camps, and equine learning
initiatives (horse therapy). She is also currently pursuing
her Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy at John
Brown University.
