2008 NWAA Summer League

WHAT IS IT?

This is an opportunity for any child in the community to get in the water and have FUN learning more about swimming.  We are offering a 6-week program that will involve teaching basic swimming techniques as well as learning concepts of training and competition. Children must be at least six years old and be able to swim 25 yards freestyle and 25 yards backstroke. A certified, professional coaching staff will be provided for instruction.

WHEN AND WHERE IS IT?

Beginning Monday, June 9th, we will train four times a week: Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday & Friday from 4:00-5:00 p.m.  Our last day will be Thursday, July 17th.  Practices will be held at the Melvin Ford Aquatic Center at Memorial Park.

HOW DO I JOIN?

Enrollment in the summer swim league is open to the entire community. Tryouts will be held between 3:45 and 4:30 at the Walton Life Fitness Center on May 16th and May 30th.   Eligible swimmers should be able to perform an unassisted 25 yard freestyle and 25 backstroke.    You may also register on the first day of class (Monday, June 9th).

WHAT IS THE COST?

This 6-week program will cost $100.00 which includes a one time USS registration fee (provides your child USS insurance coverage).  Please make checks payable to NWAA.

Athletes wishing to continue swimming at the completion of the 6 weeks will be offered a free trial period of two weeks, in September when the fall session begins, to be a part of the NWAA swim team, which is a nationally recognized, year round swimming program.
